From Salem. When traveling North on I-5, take exit #253 at Salem for Highway 22 / Mission Street and follow the signs for Highway 22 / Mission Street through Salem. Stay to the left on Highway 22 after crossing the Willamette River. Turn right (north) at the intersection with Highway 99W. Continue northbound on Highway 99W to the outskirts of McMinnville. Take the Highway 18E exit and continue for approximately four miles. The Museum is on the left.

The Willamette Heritage Center connects generations by preserving and interpreting Mid-Willamette Valley history.  The fourteen historic structures on-site house permanent and changing exhibits, a research library and archive, a textile learning center, and rentable event spaces.  The five-acre campus is also home to retail ships, art galleries, cooperative artist studios and office for our partner organizations.

Aug 26th- Sept 6 This is Oregon’s biggest event of the year, since 1860, featuring art, a zoo, extreme rides, ethnic foods, and fun games for everyone. Other events during the year at the State Fairgrounds include horse races, flea markets, and trade shows.

The capitol building, built in 1938, is made of Vermont marble in modern Greek style. At the top stands the “The Golden Oregon Pioneer,” a statue with gold overleaf by the Children of Oregon, stands 24 feet high on the dome. The interior houses extensive historic murals, an Oregon gift shop and an exhibit area.
