The Quilts of Valor Foundation is a national organization dedicated to honoring and comforting veterans and service members touched by war through the gift of handmade quilts. Each quilt serves as a tangible expression of gratitude, symbolizing the warmth and appreciation of a grateful nation.

At the upcoming Oregon Quilt Festival, we are honored to feature a special presentation by the Salem Star Valor Quilters of Oregon. This dedicated group, founded in 2018 with just four members, has grown to over 40 quilters committed to creating Quilts of Valor for our veterans. Their mission is to provide comfort and healing to those who have served our country by awarding these beautiful, handcrafted quilts.

During the festival, the Salem Star Valor Quilters will conduct a Quilts of Valor Presentation, where they will award quilts to nominated veterans and service members. This heartfelt ceremony acknowledges the sacrifices made by our military personnel and offers them a symbol of comfort and appreciation. The group has a history of awarding quilts at various events, including Veterans Day ceremonies and local gatherings, reflecting their ongoing commitment to honoring our nation’s heroes.
